STCW USCG Basic Training Revalidation

 

Objective

The objective of the STCW USCG Basic Training Revalidation course is to allow mariners to maintain the continued proficiency required by the STCW Convention, as amended, by successfully demonstrating the practical emergency response skills required for continued service at sea.

Target Group

This course is designed for mariners who hold a current, valid STCW Basic Training endorsement and meet the U.S. Coast Guard requirements for Basic Training Revalidation.

Course Length

1 day – Course length may vary depending on the number of students. Total course time includes breaks.

Validation

5 years

Prerequisites

Delegates must hold a current, valid STCW Basic Training endorsement. Expired Basic Training endorsements are not eligible for revalidation and require completion of an approved Basic Training Refresher or Original Basic Training course, as applicable.

Examination

Delegates will be continually assessed through practical demonstrations and performance-based evaluations in accordance with the STCW Code and U.S. Coast Guard requirements.
