First Aid/CPR/AED/BBP (MFA)

 

Prerequisites: This course has no formal pre-requisite.

Course Length: 4 hours – Course length shall vary depending on the number of delegates. Total course time includes breaks.

Course Objective

Provide delegates with the core knowledge to perform basic first aid.

  • Provide delegates with the core knowledge to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with or without the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

  • Provide delegates with the understanding of Universal Precautions and how to protect themselves from Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP)

Breaks: 10 minutes (approximately every hour)

Lunch: 1 Hour (if applicable)

•Emergency Moves

•Cardiac - Chest Compressions - Rescue Breaths

•Automated External Defibrillation - Primary Assessment – Unresponsive Person

•Caring for Cardiac Arrest - Multiple Provider Approach

•Choking

•Control of Bleeding

•Head, Neck, or Back Injury - Swollen, Painful, or Deformed Limb

•Burns

•Minor Injuries - Altered Mental Status - Breathing Difficulty, Shortness of Breath

•Pain, Severe Pressure, or Discomfort in the Chest

•Heat Emergencies - Cold Emergencies – Hypothermia - Frostbite

•BBP
