Online Training

Crescent Safety Services offers OSHA approved online training courses to satisfy your training requirements. Our large catalog of courses is sure to satisfy the training needs of your company if logistics prevent you from completing instructor led courses, or if your personnel simply need refresher training. All courses are timed and challenge the student throughout the training to verify they are engaged and obtaining competency. A quiz follows all courses and students are able to print or download a completion certificate. Training reports and notifications are available to promote consistent and recurrent training completion.

Grants

Crescent Safety Services is an approved writer and administrator of Louisiana funded training grants. There are two different types of state grants that can pay for all of the training required for your employees.

The Small Business Employee Training Program (SBET – Less than 50 employees) is designed to benefit business and industry by assisting in the skill development of existing employees through individual, standardized (off-the shelf) training. Employers are reimbursed for tuition and required textbooks and manuals once the training has been completed and proper documentation has been submitted to the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC). Training costs cannot exceed $3,000 per trainee per state fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). Funding is provided through the Incumbent Worker Training Account.

The customized grant is for businesses with more than 50 employees. The premise is the same as for the SBET, however, training costs are maximized at $1,500 per employee. Both grant types are simply a return on the unemployment taxes that Louisiana businesses pay for their employees.

Virtual Reality (VR) Training

Virtual reality is an innovative tool that enables a worker to be trained and evaluated without ever putting that employee in a precarious position. Humans are intensely visual creatures. 90% of all the information that is sent to our brains is visual in nature, and 93% of all our communication is visual. With VR, training becomes more visual as the subject matter is presented in a visually stunning, 3D format that most people will find far more appealing than regular old text. Crescent has compiled training programs that are highly effective in conveying regulatory requirements as well as applying the necessary skills testing to demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the material. Instructors provide initial classroom based formal lectures to deliver the knowledge required to work safely. Students then take a knowledge test to demonstrate understanding of the course material. The final step is to allow the student to become immersed in a virtual life like experience which allows them to understand their equipment, physically inspect and function the gear, and to experience the feeling and visual aspects of the environment they will be working in.
